FLY HER TO THE MOON

Euro MP Paul Nuttall has told Baroness Ashton that “most people would like her to fly to the moon.”

In a spirited speech in the European Parliament in Strasbourg today Mr Nuttall told Lady Ashton, the EU’s foreign minister, that he wanted to “speak frankly to her as one Lancastrian to another.”

“It is just not going very well indeed, is it? Earlier on you that Europe needs a credible foreign policy. How can it have a credible foreign policy when it has an incredible High Representative?

“It seems you are stumbling from one crisis to another, so much so that the British Foreign Secretary had to write you a letter this week asking you to buck up, to get on your game.

“We, in UKIP, were onto this from the start, we opposed your appointment and said you would be clearly out of your depth and we have been proved right,” said Mr Nuttall, North West MEP.

“It was said your appointment made by the Commission would stop traffic in Tokyo and Washington but you have not even been able to appoint a representative in Washington because old Barroso did you up like a kipper.

“It is also claimed in the British press that you do not turn your phone on after 8 pm. But you are the highest paid female politician in the world, you are paid more than Frau Merkel and Hilary Clinton. It is a 24 hour job.

“Now to top it all off it, it was reported yesterday that you have been given a Lear jet, 300,000 miles a year you are expected to do. That would get you to the moon and most people now would like you to stay there,” he concluded.

Lady Ashton listened to his one minute speech, which is all the time allowed for speeches in the parliament, and pulled faces when he concluded and sat down.
